I forgot!

Ok, so I forgot I had a blog...How can you blame me? Let's start again, shall we?

On March 26, 2007, quickly, almost pain-free, Refaela Isolde was born. She became #4 in our Briskman trio. She also threw our calm life into a frenzy we had never known could happen. At some point during her second week of life, she became what we affectionately referred to as "Demon Spawn". Her cries were relentless. Projectile vomit was expected after every nursing. Frustration at the breast never failed. Slow to almost minimal weight gain was an upward battle I had to fight for her. And, as second-time mom, did not know how to help her.

There was no time for specialists or experimenting with nursing styles and medicines. There was an impending move to San Francisco that had to be organized. Yes, a cross-country move that couldn't have been planned at a worse time in our lives. But how could we know that the arrival of our daughter we so eagerly wanted was going to throw our lives into a 7-month hurricane?

We moved to San Francisco when Refi was a mere 8 weeks old. After an incredible date with a pediatrician, a prescription for Zantac helped little Refi stop throwing up, but didn't not quell her insistent cries. Only time (6 months to be exact) helped her stop crying. Oh yeah, and switching to baby formula at her 5-month birthday. But that's for another day...
