Has it been a year already?

Yup, we've been here 1 year today. Everyone said it takes one year to get adjusted. Sort of true. It did take us a year to make a few friends. We're finally getting invited to stuff by people that we met a year ago. I know which farmers markets I like. I still don't know where Russian Hill is. I do know where the north and east bay are, but have no idea how to get from the east bay to the south bay. I completely understand the fog belt but can't figure out why marin is 10 degrees warmer than san francisco (which are barely 4 miles away from each other). I learned the difference between cantonese and mandarin. And I discovered I don't like either. I met 4 other Gators! But won't go to the gator club (hooters). I figured out that where your kid takes swim and music lessons says something about your bank account. But most important of all, what I learned in 1 year is that you can take the girl out of NY but you don't take the NY out of the girl. And that's what makes me stand out, not stick out.
